The CARLSBAD VILLAGE Optimist Club was 
Chartered in 1994 the club now has XX members.

The club has a one day event called "Carlsbad Loves Kids Day" in a park in Carlsbad in April of each year. This event serves about 300 children with information from various youth serving organizations that will benefit the youngsters. The club also serves them Hot Dogs and cold drinks, free face painting and other fun things.

The club also sponsors Tri-Star Baseball, Football and Basketball, the Oratorical and Essay contests, a Youth of the Month program and awards Scholarships.

Fund raising events include an Annual Pancake Breakfast on Super Bowl Sunday, a Golf Tournament in January, selling Shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day, an Auction in August, participation in the two Street Fairs in Carlsbad (May & November), and numerous other activities that the members participate in.

The Carlsbad Village Optimist Club was designated a "TRIPLE Distinguished Club"
in 1999.
