Breakfast will be held Sunday instead of a luncheon.

Executive Committee meeting will be held Thursday evening on the
Queen Mary.
Optimist International Convention in Kansas City. Governor
Norma urged all to attend, especially Club Presidents-Elect.
The training is outstanding.

Foundation- Award winning Rose Float pins are still
available for s $5.00 donation from Georgia Langhorst.

yearsÕ floats are a $3.00 donation

and Presidents Club donation awards to Governor and Charles Lehman.
* Kensington Club has contributed $50,000.00
over the years.
Childhood Cancer - Bob Langhorst
- Recent reports
indicate that there are identified twenty (20) different kinds of
childhood cancer. There's
still a lot of work to do.
Kaiser Hospital needs 24 DVD/VCR players for
children's patients rooms. If bought
altogether, $130.00 is the best price available from Circuit City.
Checks may be written to Optimist Foundation with club name and
number and sent to
Bob Langhorst by June 20th.
Youth Clubs - M. Conkwright reported for Elaine Lucca. JOOI clubs need help to
sent students to the national convention in Kansas City, July
16-20. Each student is
expected to contribute $100.00 from his/her own family toward the cost of
$750.00 per representative.
Hoover High School is raising funds by scheduling car
washes etc. to raise the $600.00 for each JOOI member going to Kansas
City. Any help from
clubs is appreciated. Please send donations to District Secretary/Treasurer,
earmarked for JOOI clubsÕ national convention.
Optimist Youth Home in Lost Angeles - Dennis Andolsek -
CALSO supports this activity. The
next Board of DirectorsÕ meeting is June 2 in L.A.
If anyone wants to attend this Board meeting, please see Dennis
after this session.

Norma announced that every club has a District mailbox. You may talk to other clubs, to O.I., post announcements etc.
Oratorical Contest - Bill Glover-
District Finals today are in Rm. 220 following this meeting. Two (2) $1500.00 scholarships will be awarded today to one
boy and one girl. Please
support the contestants.

Alan Shada- San Marcos club ill be closing - two members need a home
Zone 2 Charles Pease -
President of Carlsbad Village Club has resigned - actively
seeking a replacement.
Zone 3 Bob Conley -
emphasized attending oratorical contest here today.
This zone had 8 contestants in the semi-finals.
Zone 4 Bert LeMieux -
this zone has 2 contestants in todays oratorical competition.
Zone 5 Mary Conkwright
- reports that a good delegation will attend the convention in Kansas City in July.
Zone 6 Dennis Andolsek
- invited everyone to the annual Rodeo in Lakeside, Bulls Only, July 19th.
Zone 7 Bill Condit for
Dilda McFadden - news clubs doing fine, still learning all about Optimism.
Remarks, Round Table, Creed omitted from this meeting due
to time constraint.
Oratorical Finals begin at 1 p.m.
